It's frustrating watching disassembly in random fashion, because it would be so much cleaner if it was done in some semblance of order. For example, @ 7:29 your left hand is covering two Philips screws that hold the top cover on. Remove those, and pull it up at rear, and slide top cover forward through (between) the handles. That gives access to what many have found to be their sole problem - the plastic/silicone rubber check valve (@13:06) held closed by calcium deposits. If I come across other seqments that depict an organized (vs. completely random) disassembly, I'll add pointers.

Any suggestions on what to do if the motor shaft doesn't spin at all? We have the 3600, which is almost identical to the one in your video. It worked fine for years, then one day just quit. The motor shaft is stuck tight.

Thank you for this video! I unscrewed those 4 screws thinking it was how I removed the top to oil the bearing, but everything shifted and dropped when I did that so I did a full overhaul following your video. It works even better than it did before now, thanks again very much.

3:28 this is odd, but oddly enough, the very first computer fan i got was a 24v one, so i guess im lucky since those might be rarer.

anyways, it was one of these with the vent opening on the entirety of the front, meaning the air also gets sucked back in on one side, which is crap, luckily, my vintage tower fan has the vent on the right side only, meaning no air gets sucked back in. so yours was also quite bad anyways. and 14:17 LMAO IT JUST FUCKING DESTROYED ITSELF HAHAHA

You should do that again but with a much faster motor like we’re talking about one that can go up to 10,000 or at least

Next time, Black is "Line", White is "Neutral" and it's not a bi-directional motor, it's a simple brushless AC induction motor capable of forward and reverse rotation depending on the direction of flow applied to the Field/Stator and that is controlled with your DPDT 6 pin rocker switch. The armature, having the magnets built in the core will act according upon the field created within the stationary windings found on the stator housing walls.

That's soo cool. I like this video. I'm going to make this. I have 2 NIDEC fans from the PS4. It's a NIDEC G95C12MSIAJ56J14 DC 12V 2.10A. i took a fan out of a ps3 it's a Nidec G80E12NS1ZN-56J14 12V 1.65A 3wires cooling fan. I'm still hunting down high performance fans on PS3 and PS5. I NEED TO FIND THIS FAN, 1 of NMB-MAT BG1402-B045-P00 cooling fan 12V 2.90A 3-wire De PS3 but i don't know what model number from the PS3 has this kind of fan.
